Integrated Support for Children and Families

Sometimes our children need an extra hand to manoeuvre through the obstacles of growing up. Maybe you are having concerns over your child’s behaviour, maybe they seem down, angry or anxious, or are having problems making friends or learning? At times it is hard to figure out what is being communicated.

At the Expressive Therapy Clinic we offer a psychotherapeutic service with on- going support for the family as well as the child or young person. Psychotherapy can help resource a child to face circumstances like bereavements, illness, divorce, transition or trauma. It creates a unique space for a child to understand and process his or her feelings in order to better face the challenges of growing up. If you are concerned about your child please get in touch. We have a confidential, non-judgemental and family centred approach.

Integrative Psychotherapist specialising in Children and Families I have worked with children, young people and families for over ten years in a wide range of professional and clinical roles. I gained a Masters in Integrative Child Psychotherapy, a Diploma in the Therapeutic Application of the Arts, and a Certificate in Counselling Skills at the Institute for Arts and Therapy in Education, London. My interest in post-structuralism and psychoanalytic thought is also reflected in a second Masters in Gender Studies and Religion from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.

As a psychotherapist I pull together various strands of evidence- based theory to best support the individual child, young person or family. I use a unique approach by including a wide range of art materials to aid communication and expression; words are certainly not the only useful tool when working with children. A flexible, playful and open approach is driven by my motivation to meet both the emotional and relational needs of my clients.

I have worked with children and young people between the ages of 3- 18 years old that have faced trauma, loss, separation, anxiety, depression, emotional and behavioural problems, ADHD, ASD, selective mutism, encopresis and learning difficulties. I offer parenting support and on-going support for schools and other professionals.
